MEDIA X SCHOOL: ON THE AGENDA, THE SEXUALITY

Este trabalho faz parte das atividades realizadas junto ao Grupo de Estudos e Pesquisas em Psicopedagogia, Aprendizagem e Cultura – GEPAC, cadastrado ao CNPq na linha de pesquisa: Educação, mídia e estudos culturais. Nosso objetivo é problematizar o discurso midiático da reportagem intitulada “o melhor professor do mundo”, publicada pela revista Veja em janeiro de 2012. O problema é: como são enunciados/as os professores e as professoras na mídia brasileira? Com base nas discussões teóricas de Giroux (1997), Silverstone (2005) e Kellner (2001), entendemos que o professor destacado na revista decreta o fim do diálogo, pois não possui contato com os estudantes e está livre dos conflitos culturais do espaço escolar. Questionamos os pressupostos da revista ao eleger o método “do melhor professor do mundo” alguém que não teve uma formação docente, mas disponibiliza as suas aulas nos vídeos no You Tube. Ao celebrar o professor midiático, Veja omite e ignora o desempenho de outros/as. O discurso da revista sugere conclusões que contrariam as premissas de que a educação é inacabada e repleta de culturas variadas.
