CHILDREN CHARACTERIZATION ACCEPTED IN CARE INSTITUTION AND CHILD PROTECTION IN BORDER REGION

Children are sheltered when staying in personal and social risk, so it is the duty of the state and the carrier institution of legal custody provide full protection, ensuring the rights and restoring family ties and community, until the conditions of the families are overcome. The process of reception should take place according to the principles and guidelines of the Child and Adolescent (ECA), which covers monitoring to families of origin, with a view to family reintegration and or placement in a foster family. This study aimed to identify health characteristics, social and behavioral in a care institution and child protection Foz do Iguaçu - PR. It is a quantitative, descriptive and exploratory research, which was performed at a host institution from October to November 2013 by academics from the nursing program at the State University of Western Paraná, participated in the study 20 children aged 0-12 years old. The evaluation was conducted based on information collected through a structured data collection instrument, which analyzed aspects related to the health and behavior of children studied. The analysis showed that 60% of children had inadequate schooling for age, 50% had agitation and 25% with mental / behavioral disorders. The diversity of problems that affects these children shows the need and importance of psychological monitoring as well as other health team members during development, so they can reframe past events, overcoming them and achieving a balanced life.
