Abstract

Agroecology, whether for agronomy, philosophy, or society, is a significant topic, and authors like Hugh Lacey have learned to explore the subject well. Agroecology appears prominently in Lacey's academic production, and with the aim of identifying the presence, role and progression of the agroecology theme in the trilogy “Values and Scientific Activity”, this work is faced with the following problems: what is the relationship of Lacey's trajectory and philosophy with agroecology? What are the recommendations and use of Lacey's science and value model on agroecology? Where is agroecology in the trilogy of values and scientific activity? And finally, how to synthesize the progress of Lacey's agroecological thinking in her trilogy? Considering that for Lacey, agroecology is a scientific example or a relevant case study to be adopted, in the promotion of a contextualized, more engaged, plural, fair and sustainable science.
