Matthew Lipman was an American philosopher and educator who dedicated himself to the study of teaching philosophy in early childhood education. He developed a project in which he reinvented the way we view children's ability to understand in their early educational training. The research is motivated by a central question: how can we reorganize the foundations of how philosophy is taught and adapt complex concepts to make them understandable to children? This reorganization of the foundations, according to Lipman's vision, aims to preserve children's critical thinking and develop skills that involve philosophical reflection from childhood. One of the main objectives of this research is to understand effective methods for teaching philosophy to children. This implies not only adapting concepts, but also creating pedagogical strategies that stimulate curiosity. Furthermore, the research seeks to explore how teaching philosophy can be advantageous for child development in multidisciplinary ways, showing that philosophy can be integrated with other disciplines, contributing to the development of writing, the ability to concentrate, creativity, stimulation logical reasoning, among other contributions, thus enriching children's educational experience. Based on this, we intend to demonstrate that philosophy, in addition to integrating with other disciplines, can achieve results in the positive development of children in any other activity that is proposed. Teaching philosophy in early childhood education for Matthew Lipman involves not only the understanding of concepts, but the ability to promote philosophical development in which reflection and critical thinking are present. This research will be supported by the work Philosophy Goes to School by Matthew Lipman, seeking to demonstrate everything from a new approach to teaching philosophy to children and its foundations, to practical questions that can contribute to an education plan and a good application of philosophy teaching. in early childhood education.
