In dieser Abhandlung unternehme ich den Versuch, an einigen Beispielen zu zeigen, dass die philosophische Anthropologie als eine Denkrichtung des 20. Jahrhunderts auf eine verblüffende Weise zwischen einer behaupteten Nähe zur empirischen Forschung und einer Übernahme von fundamentalen Überzeugungen und Setzungen steht. An der Stelle, wo Argumente und ein redliches Freilegen von Gründen zu erwarten wäre, erfolgt oftmals der Hinweis auf Vorannahmen, die einer empirischen Überprüfung nicht ausgesetzt werden und dieser auch nicht standhalten würden. Dieser Gestus widerspricht allerdings dem Anspruch der philosophischen Anthropologie, eine Integration von empirischen und apriorischen Anteilen im Feld der anthropologischen Forschung integrieren zu können.
