Abstract

The rainfall erosion is a natural geomorphic process of withdrawal, transport and deposition of soil material that promotes sculpturing of the relief forms, result from the interaction of natural and man-made elements. In the city of Rondon - Paraná, work locus, soils present clayey basaltic texture (Eutroferric Red Latosol; Red EutroferricNitosol and LitholicNeosols) and prevalence of mild forms of relief to wavy, which enable relative stability to erosion. However, deforestation which started in the 1930s, made the balance of the ecological potential ceased to occur, generating a series of environmental impacts, including the acceleration of erosion. Therefore, this paper aims to discuss the causes and consequences of erosion in the city of Rondon - Paraná. To this end, in addition to literature review, the work included field work for photographic register and in order to obtain length, width and depth of erosive features. Such case study has shown that problems relating to erosion have not come from natural aspects, but rather than from carried out uses and occupations.
