The present study focuses on the concept of intermediality, understood as the interlacing of different media and the transgression of their boundaries, with the aim of analyzing the graphic novel Aqui(2014), by Richard McGuire. Drawing on the theoretical frameworks of Rajewsky (2012), Higgins (2011), and Moser (2006), as well as on the studies of comics by Eisner (1999) and McCloud (2005), this investigation is situated within the field of comparativeliterature and adopts a qualitative approach. The methodological procedure consisted of an intermedial analysis of selected sequences from the work, examining the relationships between words, images, graphic composition, and temporal variations. Based on this analysis, the study sought to answer the guiding question: can the graphic novel be understood as an intermedial materiality that, by articulating elements of literature and the visual arts, constructs its own narrative of time and space? The results indicate that Here systematically disrupts traditional médiaboundaries by juxtaposing multiple temporal layers within a single spatial frame, configuring a narrative in which temporality is expressed visually through montage and, simultaneously, through the absence or minimal presence of verbal text.
