Objective: Analyze factors that influence the maintenance of oral health in children and adolescents. Additionally, explore new health promotion approaches aimed at this younger population. Methodology: This is an integrative literature review with qualitative approach using thematic analysis technique. Results: The active participation of parents or guardians was found to have a significant influence on the oral hygiene behavior of children and adolescents, serving as an essential factor in raising awareness about the importance of toothbrushing. Direct communication remains an effective method for educating and raising awareness about oral health. However, new technologies such as the metaverse and gamification have been incorporated into the dissemination of information. Although similar in purpose, these technologies offer distinct approaches, providing more engaging and differentiated learning experiences for younger audiences. Conclusion: The research results reinforce that the formation of good oral hygiene habits is directly associated with stimulation received since childhood. Therefore, it is essential that those caregiver maintain a consistent and attentive approach in guiding their children's oral care, promoting the regularity of preventive practices and, thus, reducing the risks of imbalances in oral health. Furthermore, the growing role of educational technologies stands out, which, through playful and interactive methods, facilitate and enhance children's learning, contributing to the development of a healthy and effective routine.
