Objective: To present the validation of the construct through factor analysis of the scale of beliefs of nursing workers regarding accidents at work with biological fluid. Method: Methodological study, based on the theory of elaboration of psychological instruments, the analytical procedures were represented by the evaluation of the tested construct validity, and by the reliability of the scale. Result: The factorial analysis indicated an instrument composed of seven factors and 27 items with an internal consistency, Cronbach's alpha, with an alpha value equal to 0.84. Conclusion: The final version of the instrument has adequate psychometric properties, revealing the possibility of its use in future studies to measure beliefs regarding the accident with biological fluid.
