Abstract

Objectives: The aim of this research is to identify the risk factors of patients with coronavirus disease (covid -19) admitted to the covid -ICU of a university hospital in Cascavel-PR, and to monitor these patients regarding hematological tests. Materials and Methods: An observational, retrospective, cross-sectional, and quantitative study conducted between April and June 2020, analyzing electronic medical records of 172 patients, collecting variables such as age, sex, comorbidities, and results of hematological tests (PTT, platelet count, fibrinogen, and D-dimer). Results: A total of 172 electronic medical records were analyzed, revealing significant changes in the hematological test results of the hospitalized patients. Increased levels of D-dimer (81.40%) and fibrinogen (76.74%) were observed mainly in patients affected by SARS-COV-2.
