Abstract

This article proposes the thematization of the notion of truth having as a guiding thread this question: how does the idea of truth, when conforming to the modern scientific enterprise, becomes an elementary question in Edmund Husserl's phenomenology? To find an answer, we will demonstrate in the first two moments of this article how the notion of truth, once founded by metaphysics, unfolded historically until it reached the domains of modern science, whose purpose was to become a parameter for knowledge to the detriment of metaphysics. Then, in the last two moments of this paper, we will discuss how the characterization of truth ensured by science is posed as a question for Edmund Husserl, encouraging the phenomenologist to develop a new project for what he calls "the encounter with the things themselves".
