Abstract

Among thinkers and several other intellectuals (such as sociologists, historians and anthropologists) there is a great discussion about the dimensions of technique. Of course, for other people it may seem like a long and fruitless discussion, without much basis or justification. What would the technique be and how has its advancement impacted society and humanity? It is from this that I want to make a discussion, not so long, about the idea of technique: or, in other words, in a less rigid way as philosophy proposes, about technology and how it has impacted humanity. Taking as a starting point the thought of Ortega y Gasset, which deals with the way in which technology influences human society from some very intriguing axes, this essay analyzes a literary work of dystopian science fiction from Russian literature: We, from Zamyatin.
