Em seu mais novo livro intitulado Do Coração Máquina – a Técnica Moderna como Compaixão do Homem pelo Homem, Gilvan Fogel presta uma contribuição significativa para o cenário filosófico brasileiro, ao abordar um tema fundamental de nossa época:
a questão da técnica moderna. Trata-se de um tema fundamental, pois, atualmente vige o imperialismo da técnica, que determina os modos de ser do homem contemporâneo. Por isso, o fundamental se revela como tema atual de interesse e, por conseguinte, o progresso da tecnologia se torna um assunto constante na mídia tradicional e nos mais diferentes meios de comunicação.
