Abstract

Objective: To describe the action of educational activities regarding the follow up of the neonate and infant in the Primary health care. Methodology: Exploratory-descriptive study, that data were collected through questionnaires applied to 11 nursing professionals who were working in the Primary Health Care Questionnaires were applied before and after the educational activity and it was composed for questions about the clinical practice of the child's following, assessing the apprehension of the content of the teaching material previously available to the course, as well as, the didactic and pedagogical methodology. In this study was established as a positive score when the professionals achieve 50% or higher on the pre-test and at least 70% in the post-test. Data analysis were by means of simple descriptive statistics. Results: In the pre-test most of them got more than 50% of accuracy. In the post-test, the result remained, not reached 70%. In the study most of the participants considered the assessment of satisfactory activity. In conclusion, the educational activity will achieve better results if it developed in a planned and continuously enhancing the experiences of clinical practice of nurses; assumed by managers as inherent in the work process.
