The philosophical figure of Wilhelm Dilthey is a key figure in the young Heidegger to explain the passage that he makes from Husserlian phenomenology to existential phenomenology, insofar as the latter presents the features of a hermeneutics of meaning. Starting from the general consideration that the Heideggerian approaches to phenomenology and hermeneutics are merely a question of methodology, it is necessary to explain what the philosopher from Meßkich takes from the Diltheyan proposals in order to carve out the horizon of the question of being to which Sein und Zeit points. The present study is born with the pretension of highlighting some fundamental marks that make possible the Heideggerian transit from the objectivism procured by transcendental phenomenology to the historicism latent in the hermeneutic phenomenology developed in the twenties of the last century, the years without publications, the years in which the legend is forged.
