SUPERIOR DISTANCE EDUCATION IN SECRETARIAT IN BRAZIL: ACTUALITIES AND PERSPECTIVES OF COURSE OFFERS

Abstract

Abstract: The varied ways of communication and the daily requirements have made the people less and less available. Given this reality that adds itself to the necessity of academic background to the world of work, the Distance Education (DE) introduces itself as a democratic offer in expansion. The goal of this study is to outline a view of the offer of superior Distance courses in Secretariat in Brazil. In order to do so, it was developed a literature review focused on the reality of Distance Education (DE) in Brazil, as well as in Education in Secretariat. Thereafter, it was performed a field research by means of observational study of the superior courses of Secretariat in distance mode placed on the website of the Ministry of Education. It has been observed aspects such as: quantity of courses and centers in activity, regional centralization, degree assured, kind of Institution of Superior Education (ISE) owner of the course and quantity of vacancies offered. It has been possible to infer that the offer of Secretariat courses in the distance mode in Brazil is diachronic, although incipient. The absence of courses in public institutions and of courses that certificate bachelor’s degree were the two lacks identified that require attention and studies that identify the demand for such kind of ISE and degree as well as the search for its substantiation. It is believed that these blanks impose limitations on the course offers in the DE mode in Secretariat in Brazil.
