Abstract

The continuous innovation of products and the necessity
of improvement in the competitiveness to meet the demands of the
market, required the search by the organizations for agility and flexibility
in their organizational structures and the development of management
models. For this reason, the companies restructured their business and
production activities, with better adjusted hierarchical levels , resulting
in new job opportunities, which led the Executive Secretariat gaining
more space in the organizations, since these professionals are prepared
for both development of technical procedures, such as archival and
organization of routines, among others, as well as trained to work in
supervisory and management areas. Within this perspective, this research
aimed at to identify the main types of skills and competences that are
being offered at courses of higher education in the Executive Secretariat
programs in the southern region of Brazil and to evaluate if this
formation is adjusted to the one suggested by the Curriculum
Guidelines.
