Abstract

This study aims to analyze the inclusion the food theme in the elementary school and to verify if it is contemplated in accordance with the guidelines of the National School Feeding Programme (PNAE) which refer to the location of agrifood systems and the incentive of food culture. It was interviewed teachers of Realeza (PR) Council and held study related documents and materials. It was found that although the textbooks down at some point the issue of food and nutrition, none of the subjects deepens or is relevant to the appreciation of food culture and traditions of production and consumption that encourage localized agrifood systems. The food education activities do not dialogue with the PNAE and the Food Security and Nutrition Policy, towards the formation of conscious consumers, resulting in the emptying of meaning and purpose of it.
