Abstract

This paper analyzes the electoral performance of candidates who have tried the re-election for the post of Alderman in Curitiba in 2012. The variables used were: 2012 (defeated/re-elected), applications submitted (2009 to 2012), amount of votes received in 2008, HGPE space and resources spent on campaigns in 2012. Use the quantitative model trajectory analysis to check how much each variable weighed on the bottom line. Add the requirements to engage in dialogue with the concept of electoral connection. It is assumed that applications contribute positively to the success of the candidate, however, the results showed the opposite. Among the variables checked requirements was the weakest, helping little ones that if re-elected and even negatively influenced the result of the defeated candidates. The variable that had the highest correlation coefficients with direct and indirect for the two groups, defeated and reelected, was the vote received in 2008.
