Abstract

The use of fire, especially in rural areas, as a technique for preparing and cleaning the soil for planting or adapting land incorrectly and without the use of mitigating tools can lead to large records of fires and forest fires. This research aims to help for a more conscious and effective use of fire, which, based on the variability of precipitation, can mitigate the impacts of this technique and reduce the number of fire outbreaks during the period with lower accumulated rainfall, therefore less rainy. With the elaboration of calendars to be applied in normal years and years with the presence of El Niño or La Niña, the focus of the analyzes was for the second semester (June to November) of the year 2021, whose ocean-atmosphere coupling pattern shows the presence of La Niña, and during all this six months the behavior of the observed precipitation and the precipitation of the daily moving average showed to be in agreement, confirming that the calendar can be applied to other microregions in the state of Pará.
