Abstract

Through a exit interview we sought identifying what factors influence on the decision of the employee in to be or not to be part of the company, again in the future. It was interviewed 211 employees, during the exit process, by questions related to benefits, company infraestructure, social relationships and salary. The employees were classified into three groups: Those that would be back to the company in the future (Yes), Those that would not be back to the company (No) and the indecises (Don´t Know). To identify the characteristics of each group, it was used the Discriminant Analysis. As results, it was found that the salary has no influence on the exit or employee insatisfaction. Moreover, the missatisfaction with relationship with coworkers influence on the decision of those who would not be back to the company, while the the missatisfaction with relationship with leaders influence the indecise ones.  No problems with relationships were identified as determinantes of the decision of being back to the company in the future. We suggest that the issues related to the organizational culture, the social relationship stablished with leaders and coworkers, overshadow the issues related to the salary and influence on the employees’ satisfaction with the company.
