Abstract

Considering its historical capacity to restructure, capitalism linked to the phenomenon of globalization reached the third millennium and needed to be readjusted again. The environmental and social consequences brought about by a secular process of capital accumulation, which mainly focused on production and consumption, became the main pressure to change the dominant paradigm. The objective of this article is to demonstrate how the endogenous development, through the articulation of local actors, achieves viable regional strategies and projects that are integrated in a sustainable way, while at the same time, it becomes an important alternative of adjustment for the capitalist model. As an example of this development strategy, the Integrated Regional Development Plan of the Southwest of Paraná (PDRI) stands out, which demonstrates the important role of endogenous protagonism, based on the organization of local actors to search for alternatives that make possible the development Local / regional.
