Abstract

In order to understand the female insertion in the organizational environment of the software companies of the city of Pato Branco, this study seeks to make an analysis in light of the phenomenon of "Glass Ceiling" and to verify the spaces occupied by women in organizations. Starting from a qualitative approach, semi-open questionnaires were sent to 34 software developers. A questionnaire was directed to managers of the Human Resources area and women collaborators who occupy positions of leadership. A second instrument was intended for managers of companies. From the total of the sample, a preliminary return of 15 questionnaires addressed to managers of the Human Resources area and women in managerial / leadership positions was obtained and 10 returns were from the questionnaires sent to the managers. The field research has the interest of identifying if the companies have in their work environment women in positions of management and verify the requirements (abilities and competences) for them to stand out in these environments. The preliminary data obtained from the 10 returns of the questionnaire directed to the managers show that of the 44 management positions, 29.54% are employed by women and the rest of the sample, 70.46% are employed by men. These data show that women have been gaining space within the work organization, but there are still barriers that limit career opportunities and professional progression, which can be seen as the "Glass Ceiling" phenomenon still present in the organizational context.
