Abstract

Abstract: Deforestation is a very current and relevant issue, and for this reason it is essential to address it in the classroom. In this context, this project explored several topics related to the environment. Environmental education (EA) is closely linked to the development of our project, in which we work based on municipal and federal laws to promote environmental awareness. (EA) is understood as the processes through which individuals and the community build social values, acquire knowledge, develop skills, cultivate attitudes and acquire skills aimed at conserving the environment. At the school where the project was presented, there are no green areas inside, but there is a square. There we took students to learn about native species, also showing them the seeds of exotic trees. Furthermore, we took an Araucaria seedling to talk about this tree, which is the symbol of Paraná. In a way, we achieved excellent results with the project, and this was evident during the class after visiting the square. The students actively contributed to the construction of this project, which resulted in greater participation and engagement on both sides.
