JACK KEROUAC: COMPONENTS AND FUNDAMENTALS OF A BEAT

Abstract

The objective of this work to analyze the personal history of the American writer Jack Kerouac, his geographical trajectory through the United States and the influences that the road itself had in his way of perceiving the world and organizing his prose. Besides, other components and fundamental elements of the structure and manifestation of his writings are analyzed. A parallel is traced between his personal history, the artistic discoveries he made and the manifestation of such ideals in his prose. Through the comprehension of his historical and geographical situation we propose a plunge in his work for a better understanding of his time and art in it. Through the analysis of personal mail and biographical and bibliographical studies we may have a glimpse that the present article aims to show of the things Kerouac made as a writer, the gaps he left, and possible uses of his literature as teaching and studying tools. When studying the moments of his art, we try to understand its formation and its structure. In other words, we tried to list the moments and movements that made the spontaneous bop prosody one of the most famous writing techniques in the XX century.
