WATER QUALITY OF A STREAM IN YOUR PROPERTY RURAL MUNICIPALITY OF PALOTINA – PARANÁ

Abstract

: Water is one of the most important natural resources, essential to life and human activities for their roles in the public supply, industrial, agricultural and conservation of aquatic life (Corson, 2002). This study aimed to analyze the quality of water source and the Sanga Feliz by chemical analysis, physical and microbiological. Samples were collected at the beginning and at three points of the route of Sanga Feliz, located in rural property in Palotina. The data was collected 48 hours after 20 mm of rain in the fourth week of August 2009. The tests were conducted during the months of August and September of 2009 in the laboratories of the State University of the West of Paraná (Unioeste), in Cascavel, Paraná, according to methods described in Standart Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastwater (1998). For the parameters, spring water and stream Sanga Happy are within the range required by the CONAMA resolution (357/2005). In microbiological parameters only point 2, located near the stable, has a high value of total coliform bacteria, confirming that the breeding next to conservation area is a potential polluter of water.
