Abstract

Artificial Intelligence - AI - has become a reality in public and private organizations and when applying this technology in Public Administration, constitutional principles and ethical aspects must be considered in order to promote benefits for all citizens. For this reason, this article aims to critically verify the application of AI in the Brazilian Public Administration in order to understand the current stage of application of this technology. The methodology applied comprises the collection of secondary data applied to the narrative review of the literature in which the CAPES Journal Platform was prioritized as a scientific database and the open access graphic design service was applied to the articulation of the argument. The results show that Brazil has successful experiences in the field of AI, especially in public finance control bodies, although concerns about the bias in the application of this technology persist. It is therefore concluded that there is no obstacle to the use of AI in public service, as long as it is seen as a tool capable of supervision in decision-making, especially in subjective cases.
