Abstract

Despite the growing number of studies into the area of ​​personal finance, few explore behavioral changes resulting from the improvement in the level of training. The objective of this research is to analyze the relationship between the entry in the education and personal financial behavior. In a survey of 126 college students using the descriptive method, there was a significant change in personal financial behavior, supported by the chi-square test. The result indicated that higher education can influence the personal financial behavior of these young people, especially in the bands from 17 to 22 years. From this result, it is proposed to investigate the causes of such a change. For this aim is a future study using the theoretical framework of Behavioral Finance.
