A INFLUÊNCIA LOCAL DO CONHECIMENTO NOS PROCESSOS DE INOVAÇÃO/The local influence of knowledge on innovation processes

O presente estudo tem como objetivo avaliar a existência de aglomerados de inovação entre países, bem como analisar a influência local do conhecimento sobre a inovação. Para isso, foram utilizadas as abordagens de Análise Exploratória de Dados Espaciais e de Regressão Ponderada Geograficamente. Os resultados indicaram que há dependência espacial da inovação entre os países, com a maior concentração de países no cluster com alto indicador de inovação no continente europeu e a maior aglomeração de países com baixo indicador de inovação no continente africano. O estudo também evidenciou impacto positivo local de anos de estudo sobre a inovação em países do continente asiático e do Leste Europeu e impacto positivo local da inovação em países vizinhos sobre a inovação em países do Sudeste Asiático e da Oceania. O estudo evidencia que o conhecimento e os países vizinhos influenciam os processos de inovação de forma heterogênea.
Abstract: The present study aims to assess the existence of innovation clusters between countries, as well as to analyze the local influence of knowledge on innovation. Exploratory Spatial Data Analysis and Geographically Weighted Regression were used for this purpose. The results indicate that there is spatial dependence of innovation between countries, with the highest concentration of countries in the cluster with high innovation indicators in the European continent and the largest agglomeration of countries with low innovation indicators in the African continent. The study also showed a positive local impact of years of study on innovation in countries of the Asian and Eastern European continents and a positive local impact of innovation in neighboring countries on innovation in countries of Southeast Asia and Oceania. In summary, this study shows that knowledge and neighboring countries influence innovation processes in a heterogeneous way.
