This work has as main objective the study of female migration in Bolivia to Corumba - Mato Grosso do Sul, through its conditioning - both in origin and the destination - and the impacts and specificities observed this phenomenon, and the strategic use of resources on both sides the border. The migration of women has been the focus in recent debates on international migration. To take the invisibility of migrant women or the role of accompanying of men in migratory phenomena is the objective of many researchers (Morokvasic, 1984, Boyd and Grieco, 2003; Engle, 2004; Phizacklea, 1983; Pessar, 2000). The deconstruction of the migrant as an individual male and the incorporation of women to the analysis of migration flows were important advances in these works. To study the migration of women, however, requires the incorporation of new analytical perspectives. To capture the differential migration by sex, instruments are needed and to overcome limitations of data sources such as censuses (Castro, 2006). In this sense, we can affirm that the study of female migrationin addition to a theoretical perspective, requires the researcher to search for data sources that exceed these limits and allow the capture of process knowledge exclusively by women throughout the migration process. During the migratory processes, men and women rebuild, negotiate gold and affirm power relations, hierarchy and their identity (Castro, 2006). A detailed study of female migration can capture these processesand the impacts experienced by women: it is through them that women assert themselves as agents of equity in migration processes. This study allowed the dialogue between theoretical perspectives and empirical evidence (quantitative and qualitative), as well as the understanding that a current phenomenon (re) sets from social and historical processes. In this context, the rules of international migration, in this case the migration of women, take on characteristics of applicants guided social processes at the origin, which brings new meaning starting border migration.Downloads
