Abstract

Focusing on the development of cities, with a low carbon economy, has become increasingly necessary. A nation that aims to develop its economy intelligently must seek and invest in measures that ensure greater energy efficiency. This work aimed to analyze and study Mexico City, seeking through the survey of data on fuel consumption, solid waste and electricity, calculate the emission of CO₂ and its exergetic efficiency, by obtaining the input exergy and exergy rates destroyed, resulting from the process of burning fuels used, it was calculated an exergetic efficiency of 22,16%, due to demographic, economic, and systems and devices facilitating urban mobility, the diversified public transport system, and the high rate of individual car use.
