Abstract

The impacts caused by tourism require efficient public policies that adapt to regional characteristics and that prevent the effects of the climate emergency brought into play. Rondônia, a state belonging to the Northern Region of Brazil, recently established its State Tourism Policy to regulate the activity. Thus, this summary aims to analyze the public policies that influence tourist activities in Rondônia, aiming to understand whether sustainability and prevention actions in relation to climate change are topics listed, through the search for laws, plans, programs and projects on the bodies' websites competent state officials. In the concept, principles and instruments of state policy the economic issue prevails. For such a new policy, sustainability should be listed as essential. It is expected that the promotion of socio-biodiversity, which is also included in politics, is much more real than rhetoric.
