Abstract

The Urban Territorial Planning Project in the Municipality of Dr. Juan León Mallorquín, led by the Research and Extension Directorate of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at the Private University of the East, aims to promote participatory applied research, integrating with university extension, and respecting academic freedom. The proposal includes the creation of two coordination mechanisms in the municipality: the "Development Council" as a decision-making body composed of the public, private, and organized civil society sectors, and the "Technical Planning Secretariat," exclusively dedicated to planning. These mechanisms allow the formation of temporary governments that execute actions aligned with the guidelines established by society as a whole. The campaign focuses on achieving effective management in the implementation of different phases of the Plan, thus contributing to the sustainable development and well-being of the Municipality of Dr. Juan León Mallorquín.
