GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS

THEMATIC AXES

• Sustainability, Science, Technology, and Environment;
• Climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies (low-carbon economy, circular economy, energy transition);
• Resilient infrastructure and sustainable development;
• Environmental governance, Governance for Sustainability – SDGs;
• Innovation and Society (urban mobility, shared economy, sustainable metrics, environmental patents);
• Environmental risk management and disaster preparedness;
• Sustainability, Social and ecological resilience in urban and rural areas;
• Environmental education and awareness initiatives for the climate emergency.

SECTIONS

• Articles: This is the main section and is dedicated to the dissemination of completed scientific research.
• Reviews: Section dedicated to critical reviews of books, articles, or recent publications relevant to the journal's field of study.
• Special Issues: Reserved for collections of articles exploring specific or emerging themes, resulting from significant works in the highlighted area.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

• The official language is Portuguese. However, papers in Spanish or English are also accepted, but must include an abstract and keywords in Portuguese. The work submitted for review by the Editorial Board of the journal must not be submitted to another body for publication or have been previously published, except as a communication at scientific events.

FORMATTING

• PAPER SIZE: Before typing the text, ensure the page is set to A4 size (210 x 297 mm), portrait mode. Use Microsoft Word and/or OpenOffice.
• MAXIMUM NUMBER OF PAGES: 20 (twenty) for Articles, Scientific Initiation, Scientific Dissemination Notes, and Essays; 10 (ten) for Ongoing Research and Book Reviews. Articles exceeding 20 (twenty) pages may be accepted in exceptional cases if the topic or research is deemed highly relevant by the editor.
• TEXT MARGINS: Margins should be 4.4 cm at the top and bottom (including the journal header and footer), 3 cm on the left, and 2 cm on the right.
• PAGE FORMAT: All text should be justified (except for references, which should be left-aligned).
• AUTHORS: A maximum of 5 (five) authors per article is allowed, with a maximum of 2 articles per author per edition. The work must include the full names of the authors below the title, left-aligned, and in the footer, the email, affiliation institution, and ORCID must be provided.
• TITLE: The title should be bold, Arial font (size 14), with the first letter capitalized.
• ABSTRACT: Insert the article abstract with a maximum of 300 words, between 10 and 14 lines, written in a single paragraph. The font used should be Arial 10, single-spaced, and justified. Keywords: Insert up to 5 keywords (Arial, size 10), separated by semicolons.
• BODY TEXT: Use Arial font (size 11), justified, with 1.5 line spacing. Each paragraph should have a 1.27 cm first-line indentation.
• CITATIONS: Citations of authors throughout the text should be in lowercase, inside and outside quotes, e.g., "text...text...text" (Smith, 2009).
• LONG QUOTATIONS: Should have a 4 cm left indent, justified, with single-spacing. The same font (Arial, size 10) should be used.
• FOOTNOTES: Must be at the bottom of the page, numbered in superscript Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3, etc.). Use Arial font, size 10, justified, with single line spacing.
• TABLES, FIGURES, AND CHARTS: Captions (titles) should be placed above Figures, Tables, and Charts. Both the objects and their captions must be centered on the page. Use Arial font, size 10, bold, centered. All tables and figures must be sequentially numbered in Arabic numerals, with sources placed below the Figures, Tables, and Charts. The title and source should remain on the same page as the table or figure. Maintain spacing between the figure and the text.
• ACKNOWLEDGMENTS: The author thanks the xxx Program and the xxxxx Foundation or Institute for funding and scholarships provided.
• REFERENCES: Should be prepared using Arial 11, single-spaced, left-aligned, and separated by space. References are mandatory and must comply with NBR 6023/2018 standards. Include the DOI for articles whenever possible.
