CALL FOR PAPERS
The Journal of Literatura, História e Memória, ISSN 1983-1498, Qualis B1, linked to the Programa de Pós-Graduação em Letras da Universidade Estadual do Oeste do Paraná (UNIOESTE), published semiannually, has open calls for original and unpublished papers in order to integrate its next edition (v. 19, n. 34, 2023).
In each of its editions the journal is composed of two sections: a DOSSIER with a delimitated theme and a permanent SECTION, which receives submissions in a continuous flow, called “Pesquisa em Letras no contexto Latino-americano e Literatura, Ensino e Cultura”, which includes several papers derived from research and studies in the field of Literature.
DOSSIER: AMEFRICAN CONNECTIONS: WOMEN IN THE LITERATE UNIVERSE
Decolonial and feminist perspectives have contributed in the last decades to broaden the vision of literary historiography, still centered on canonical authors and works.
Lélia Gonzalez (1988) in her essay “For an Afro-Latin American Black Feminism” draws attention to the importance of the multiracial and pluricultural character in Latin American territory. For her, these are fundamental elements for thinking about the particularities that concern the conditions of Latin American women, in an expansion of previously stagnant identity categories.
The idea of “Amefricanity” presented by Lélia contributes significantly to highlighting the socio-historical conditions that characterize the cultural formation of Latin American peoples. Considering this perception focused on examining the production of female authorship, based on the historical process and the dynamism that represent identity relations in the American context, this dossier aims to highlight the dialogue between these black female voices in different languages (Portuguese, Spanish, French, English, Creoles) and in the cultural conglomerate that shapes the American continent.
It is, therefore, about providing a space for reflection and visibility for the production of black women on the American continent, with the aim of nurturing the formation of “a group [of women] virtually articulated in dialogues of readings, silent, written and also carried out by meetings” (PIZARRO, 2006, p.93), as highlighted by Ana Pizarro.
The notion of "Amefricanity", emphasized by Lélia Gonzalez, as well as the concept of "invisible college", presented by Pizarro, regarding the constitution of networks or female groups that enhance the discourse of intellectual women, substantiate the proposal of this dossier of the Journal of Literature, History and Memory. We invite researchers interested in composing this dossier to present their studies related to Latin American feminism(s) in the literary field, in its most diverse nuances, exploring theoretical aspects, comparative studies, interart dialogues, among other possibilities that deepen the reflections suggested in this proposal.
