Abstract

This paper aims to approach the issue of the double, as the doubling of the subject, addressed in the work Dias & Dias by Ana Miranda, whose narrative allows us to build a Gonçalves Dias, from the XIX century romantic poet himself, which consists in an "autonomous entity", identifying itself with the part it originated. As of Otto Rank (2001) who sees in the double the specific power to prevent the death of oneself,3 it is reasonable to say that the issue of the other, in the novel Dias & Dias, allows the revival and perpetuation of the poet, expressed by the word.
