Abstract

This work has as main objective the establishment of a comparative study of the same character, the Mio Cid hero in two great works of Spanish literature, El Cantar de Mio Cid and the Romancero Viejo, aiming to analyze and identify that way she turns over the centuries. Been analyzed some selected romances from Romancero Viejo with the theme of Mio Cid hero, along with Cid represented in Cantar, so it was possible to draw comparisons arising from the character of the representations in both texts, noting the distinctions and similarities that are established in their construction. With this, we intend to verify how was the transformation of the character during the late XIII century, a time that characterizes the Spanish Middle Ages until the beginning of the Renaissance, since the XV century. Also intend to to know how the time, along with their most representative ideologies, also considering factors such as social, historical and cultural elements, interfere with the text of the construction time. At the end of the study, expected to be recognized that the Mio Cid character receives a literary and historical treatment that fits the moment is represented literary, and thus a sort of reflection of the man "Spanish" from different eras.
