Abstract

This articleaims to reflect, from acomparative study, upon therebelaisian cultural foundationalong withthe contemporary literature, of which works were chosen from the brazilian writer andplaywrightDias Gomes. To this end, it was sought to understand the literary style of the french writer François Rabelais, the way how the popular culture from that context was transposed by the literary word, having as subject of analysis the work Gargântuaand Pantagruel(2009), written in the period of transition from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance. The satirical and farcical dramaturgical production by Dias Gomes promotes a dialogue, in an interlocutionthrough the literary’s production style firmed into the serious-comic genres and the perspective of the creaturely and grotesque realism.
