Abstract

The article seeks to show, in the context of the 1940s, the moment of facts such as the Second World War (1939-45) and The New State (1937-45), the emergence of the so-called Generation of 45, and, in addition, provides a discussion of contemporary literature, highlighting in particular the influence of symbolism and existentialism in world literature. These points of analysis listed are relevant for the understanding of the formation of Brazilian literature and understand, as a result, the emergence, in the town of Belém, a cultural group in mid 1940. Group who, in 1946 to consolidate as the Class of the Central, and would gain prominence in the construction of a new poetry, a new literary life and an identity of generational.
