Abstract

This article seeks to read Vladimir Nabokov's lesson on James Joyce's Ulysses as a critical text and as a class discourse. It is intended to observe Nabokov's didactic method and compare his pedagogical vision to Bakhtin's notions of language teaching, as well as a discourse with other prominent authors in the educational field. With this, our thesis is that Ulysses may indeed have an educational dimension, depending on how it is read and how it is taught.
