Abstract

This study makes a reflection about the romance O filho eterno, of Cristovão Tezza, investigating the literary text as a place where the confluences between history, memory and culture are explored. In effect, this work aims to investigate the rewriting modes in which the author´s life history constitutes literary material. In the romance genre, the polyphonic contraposition and the individual problems concurs to a new configuration of writing that characterizes itself principally by a narrative that rememorizes the past in the present time, dialoging with several areas of knowledge such as psychology, anthropology, philosophy and sociology, among others. In the text, narrated in third person, the fictional and the historic interpenetrate themselves, showing one vision of world as from mental structures culturally built. The narrative ends establishing a new reality that obligates to a reflection about the relationship between parents and sons.
