Abstract

In this study we aim to bring the play Dorotéia Nelson Rodrigues and the mythical story of Psyche, because, in our view, in all the mythical stories that focus on a female figure, the history of this Greek god can help us to draw a parallel between the rodriguiano theater and ancient mythology. We consider this text the Brazilian playwright - is located within the block called 'mythical parts "- is a good example for carrying out this purpose. If on one hand, we recognize the dramatic rodriguiana traces of ancient mythology, on the other, you can not deny that it is a modern introducing characters fighting against gods or not a destination, but against his inner demons literature. As for the version of the myth of Psyche, we chose the text written by the Roman poet Lucius Apuleius in the second century as part of his book The Golden Ass (known manuscripts entitled Metamorphosis). In addition to the authors of the works analyzed, we go to others who take the mythic-symbolic address as E. Cassirer (1972), James Hillman (2004), Rafael López-Pedraza (2006).
