Abstract

This article analyzes the aspects of memory and trauma, through the literary representation of the military regime in the contemporary novel O corpo interminável (2019), by Claudia Lage. As well as it makes a theoretical discussion about the concept of collective memory and trauma; investigates the literary representation of the Civil-Military Dictatorship; as well as analyzes the composition structure and the categories of the narrative. In addition, the work describes the representation of dictatorship, collective memory, and trauma in the work. This is a bibliographical, qualitative and explanatory research, which aims to highlight the history of women guerrilla who were silenced by all types of repression, prejudices, exclusions and authoritarian views. In addition to reconstructing the traumatic memories of the dictatorship by making the past remembered by new generations, through the resistance of testimony in society. For this, the studies of the following theorists were used: Maurice Halbwachs, Alfredo Bosi, Jeanne Marie Gagnebin, Márcio Seligmann-Silva and Dom Paulo Evaristo Arns. Based on the analysis, it was verified in the narrative the presence of the collective memory of a group and its subsequent traumas to the socio-historical period presented in the work. In addition, the resistance of contemporary writing in the narrative of the novel was observed, as well as the struggle of women belonging to guerrilla organizations that resisted the dictatorial context.
