Abstract

This article discusses the green meat marketing practices in Corumbá, on the border with Bolivia, in the late nineteenth century. The core of the text is the discussion on the construction of the abattoir, as well as the contradictory actions of the City Council before the meat trade at the time of reorganization of the region after the war between Paraguay and the Triple Alliance.
