Abstract

This article aims to present some results of the project História Oral e Imigração: abordagem histórico-crítica da produção brasileira, conducted by the authors. This research intended to analyze the use of oral history in the migration studies in Brazil. Here, we present the technical approaches we have used in our research and show some qualitative and quantitative results of the investigation, specifically in the case of the Japanese and the Jewish in Brazil and for the Brazilians in United States. The analysis allowed us to realize some potentialities and some limitations of the oral sources for the study of immigration.
