Abstract

This teaching case presents a fictional scenario aimed at fostering debate on public policy evaluation among undergraduate and graduate students in Administration, Public Administration, and related fields. Juliana is an early childhood education teacher who has taken on the role of Director at a municipal school where she studied as a child. Among the various challenges she faced, she encountered problems with the school meals, which did not always include meat, vegetables, and greens. Several identified dilemmas require solutions, including: How can management and control tools for government public policies improve school meals? How can we know if the National School Feeding Program (PNAE) is being implemented? What problems in the program's execution at the school might be affecting school meals? How can they be solved? Students should find solutions that help evaluate the management and application of PNAE resources and their fulfillment in relation to the acquisition of food from family farming, offering solutions that improve the supply of school meals.
