Abstract

 The rural credit , analyzed as a policy for the development of family farming , is an important tool for strengthening and encouraging the production , but also a risk to producers unaccustomed to modernization and market fluctuations and the financial system . This research aims to analyze the performance of rural credit facilities that can be accessed by family farmers in the State of Amapá , as well as impacts of policies and limits for the field . The methodology consisted of gathering information and collecting data in the institutions responsible for managing programs of credits / loans for family farms in Amapá and the literature review on the topic . Was analyzed in this study the performance of three sources of credit / financing including family farmers may have access, FRAP , and FNO PRONAF . It was demonstrated in the study that the rural credit lines for family farming in Amapá not yet reached satisfactory resourcefulness and access to rural credit is dependent on the ability to articulate the different social actors involved and committed to their growth and development.
