Abstract

In recent years, planning, as well as technology, participation, emancipation, and environment, have been treated as neutral unbiased concepts and, thus, as protagonists to universal causes, devoid of specific historical, social and political contexts and meanings, or that they do not refer to actors, relations, times and spaces. Frequently, these notions are coated with wonder and deployed on projects with missionary character and they have in the “methodism” or in the “methodolatry” their sacred temple. This research discusses the concept planning and, specifically, seeks to establish parameters for a possible debate on planning in a solidarity economy, which requires its reinsertion in the field of historical-sociological approaches.  It is intended, moreover, to contribute to deciphering the opacity in which our time-world exists and to discover how to navigate in these muddy waters, with canoes such those of the University and the Technological Incubator of Popular Cooperatives (ITCP).
