Abstract

This article discusses the concept of river basin from the point of view of different areas of knowledge, given the difficulty of the studies converge to a common denominator, forareas like the Hydraulic Engineering and Planning, among others, also classified as the unit of planning. Nevertheless, we carried out a theoretical analysis of economic geography, dealt with various concepts such as space, the region and the territory in orderto elucidate their differences and, for various reasons, went beyond its meaning. The intention is not discuss how to define the scope of planning, but inquire about the bestwork schedule for urban issues, using the correct terminology for each.
