Abstract

The article discusses the changes that the "modernization" brought both for agriculture and for industry, and is focused on soybean production chain, existing in Ijui/RS. On the first, there is a brief analysis on the role of work in contemporary society. In terms of methodological procedures, they were based Triviños (1987) and Gil (2002). As for social agents selected, 56 were questioned soybean producers, company managers interviewed two SOY S/A and also conducted a questionnaire with 33 employees of the same organization. In practical analysis, it was found that the owners of soybean crops are allocating much greater addition of chemical inputs such as more time for planning due to the replacement of hand labor by machinery, technology practical results. In urban work related to CPS, the degree of presence in the work intensity was expressed by the company researched work shifts, random and prolonged, confirming the hypothesis that the insertion of technology generates more work to the employee. Following are the elements that express why the insertion of new technologies and their impact on daily life of both soybean producers and workers in the industrial segment connected to Soybean Production Chain analyzed the municipality. Finally, the concluding remarks are accompanied by suggestions for checking the intensity of work in other industries and also members of contemporary society living labor.
